Allergy Alert: Waitrose Stem Ginger Cookies – undeclared almond & sulphur dioxide

Waitrose has withdrawn packs of its ‘Waitrose Stem Ginger Cookies 200g’ as they contain ‘Waitrose Cherry & Almond cookies 200g’ due to a packaging error.  The product also contains sulphur dioxide which is not mentioned as an ingredient on the packaging.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almond and/ or a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide.waitrose cookies.JPG

No other Waitrose products are known to be affected.

RISK:

Allergen: almond and sulphur dioxide

The product contains almond and sulphur dioxide, which are not mentioned as ingredients on the product label, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds and/ or a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide.

ADVICE  TO CONSUMERS:

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to almond and/ or a sensitivity to sulphur dioxide, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store where you bought it.

No other date codes or Waitrose products are affected by this recall.
